Food safety is paramount. But as technology evolves, more can be done to and with foods. How safe are new approaches to food and food safety? Our recent analyses include:
evaluating the health aspects of certain compounds found in irradiated beef;
examining new methods for evaluating food safety; what amounts and types of information do regulators need to make safety decisions about new food ingredients? While the safety of foods modified by newer biotechnology techniques has received heightened attention, the public often asks the U.S. government about the safety of food ingredients.
