Heather Gorby, Ph.D.
Dr. Gorby is a Staff Scientist at the Life Sciences Research Organization. She completed her postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, Maryland. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Biopsychology from Stony Brook University and holds a B.S. in Biopsychology from the University of California at Davis. Her research has examined the feasibility of stress-related hormones as potential therapeutics against bacterial pathogens, and the effects of elevated stress-related hormones on brain anatomy and behavior in rodent models.
Dr. Gorby is the co-author of a peer-reviewed journal article and three book chapters. She is a member of the Society for Neuroscience, the Endocrine Society, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
